In the theory of medical science, at its foundation, the idea is that the brain just magically comes alive and decides “You know what? I am just going to operate totally independently of the human being and just take over their entire lives and start screaming at them in audible voices and attacking their body. Why not?”.
Don’t hassle him about eating or showering. Not wanting to care about these things is normal. Job did it. Daniel did it. Many others did it. This is the modern equivalent to “sackcloth and ash”.
